Goldfish

Picture of goldfish in aquarium

I need a large, interesting aquarium to live in, not a small bowl.

I need clean water that has enough oxygen in it, as I use the water to breathe, like you use air.

Don’t let my aquarium get dirty – get a water filter and change my water regularly.

Don’t fill my aquarium with cold tap water. Brrr! Use water that is room temperature and free from chemicals.

You can use safe plants, rocks and ornaments to make my tank more fun for me to explore!

I like clean gravel at the bottom of my aquarium; you can get this from pet stores.

I don’t have ‘ears’ like you, but I am very sensitive to sounds and vibrations so don’t tap on my aquarium!

I like to eat small amounts of special fish food.

Although I’m not as intelligent as you, I will still recognise you and remember my feeding time.

Check me over regularly and if you are worried about me, ask an adult to take me to the vet.
