
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a challenging programme of activities for young people aged between 14 and 25 years.
There are 3 levels of Award:
Bronze ( minimum age 14 years)
Silver (minimum age 15 years)
Gold (minimum age 16 years)
And 4 sections:
Service, Skills, Physical Recreation, Expeditions
In addition there is a Residential Project for the Gold Award
PDSA is an National Access Organisation for the Service Section of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
Participants can count the time that they spend involved in the PDSA PetAid challenge towards their Award. In addition, volunteering hours carried out by young PDSA volunteers can be credited towards the Service Section of the award.
The minimum requirements of the Service Section of the Award at each level are:
Bronze - 3 or 6 months
Silver - 6 or 12 months
Gold - 12 or 18 months
A certificate of Prior Learning and an Access Credit Note can be awarded to recognise your achievement.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is run though many Schools, Colleges, Youth Clubs, Open Awards Centres and Voluntary Organisations.
